BootCamp 2009

 What's BootCamp, why did I receive emails from Superheros, and why should I care?

BootCamp is the New Organizing Institute's signature training event, bringing over 50 talented progressives to DC for an intense week-long training on campaigning, new media, online organizing, data and technology.

BootCamp attendees were from across the country, a diverse group of graduating college seniors, recent campaign staffers, and career-changing professionals. BootCamp is an all-expense-paid training. Around 600 people applied for BootCamp's 60 spots.

The best part of BootCamp wass the combination of hearing from experts in the field and becoming an expert through running a mock campaign. This year there were eight candidates running for Mayor of DC -- all superheroes.

Our BootCampers designed and built the websites below (in one night!), created field plans, built up email lists and social network followings, and received endorsements and blog posts across the country. People who joined their email lists, checked out their sites, and created a buzz helped to support their tireless work and train the next generation of technologically-enabled organizers.
