Most Valuable Organizer Nomination form

Organizers tend to be the unsung heroes of the campaign world. Not this year! The New Organizing Institute is launching the Most Valuable Organizer list this campaign season to highlight the progressive movement's best examples of good management, innovation, work ethic, risk taking, training, planning and preparation.

Out of thousands of campaign operatives from the 2008 campaign cycle, the Most Valuable Organizer program will highlight a list of 100 organizers from the cycle who represent the future of the progressive movement -- the most effective, successful and innovative organizers of the 2007-2008 campagin season. The 100 MVOs will include staff from the primary season and the general election season and will be split evenly between candidate campagins and independent/non-partisan efforts.

Organizers can nominate themselves or be nominated by a colleague or campaign volunteer. Nominees will be judged based on interviews and submissions by colleagues, campaign volunteers and anyone who has witnessed the organizers' work. These organizers could be precinct captains, data managers, Internet directors, communications professionals, or hold any number of other positions. What qualifies them for the MVO list is their use of traditional and new technology and skills to be exceptionally effective and efficient, particularly in challenging circumstances.

A subset of MVOs will be brought to special post-election working debrief to produce recommendations to movement leaders for future campaign cycles.
