Want to attend an NOI Training but can't travel to DC? No problem! We'll come to you...or close by at least.

NOI is excited to announce a slate of state-based trainings this summer on online organizing, online communications, political technology, new media, and testing/evaluation. We are working with a wide array of state-based partners for these "Organizers Summits," and will be piloting these trainings in Michigan starting in June. Over the course of the summer, NOI will be holding Organizers Summits in nine states and regions (Michigan, DC, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Pacific Northwest, New Mexico, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ohio) in an effort to share some of the lessons learned by organizations on the forefront of online organizing and political technology.

Online Organizing & Tech Training for Non-Profits
March 7-9, 2007, Washington, DC

The first of its kind non-profit training was a great success. Participants learned from expert practitioners, pioneers, and colleagues in the fields of online organizing, membership-building and fundraising. This non-profit training designed for leaders and staff in the departments of communications, membership, fundraising, advocacy, voter contact programs, Internet and IT brought together 50 amazing organizations to discover how to leverage both emerging and tried-and-true technology to multiply their impact.

RootsCamp: The Post-Election Retreat, 2.0-Style
December 2006, Many Locations

The New Organizing Institute, in partnership with Emerging Progressives, brought together a diverse mix of over 400 exceptional people from all levels and all sectors of the progressive movement for a hugely successful 2006 post-election debrief called RootsCamp DC. Allied events were held in San Fransisco, New York, and Colorado. Plans are now in the works for similar events in 2007 and 2008.

3-Day Online Campaign Training
August 2006, Washington DC

The Internet gurus from the Lamont, Kerry, Dean, Clark, and Edwards campaigns as well as MoveOn, the DNC, AFL-CIO, and top fundraising and direct marketing consultants taught trainees how to conduct a successful email fundraising campaign, organize volunteers online, outreach to bloggers, coordinate your field and online work, and make smart choices about political technology.
